Observing La Serena, Chile

Here are some photos of the city of La Serena, Chile.  Geoff told me before we left that it was a "small fishing village".  It's not.  This place is huge, I think.

This is a photo of Elqui Valley.  We took a drive out there on Sat.  The valley was beautiful.  The Andes mountains not so pretty from here.

These last 3 photos are all of the Elqui Valley.  Here is where I need to say that at the turnaround point of this trip Geoff found 3 hitchhikers and picked them up.  They seemed to be pretty happy about riding in the back until we stopped a little ways down the road to pick up 1 more.  Seriously--- not sure what Geoff was thinking but it made the trip home much more fun!  Thanks Ocho!

Ash was pretty impressed with the mall in Santiago.  I think there are 5 levels.
